Open registration - no limit on the number of athletes from each region.

Participants are eligible to participate in as many Equestrian events as they choose.

Rules and Regulations:

1. Every athlete must hold AEF registration and disclose the number on the entry form.
   
   
2. Every athlete must be able to produce appropriate identification at all times.
   
   
3. ALL RIDERS OF ANY AGE MUST WEAR ASTM/SEI APPROVED PROTECTIVE HEAD GEAR AT ALL TIMES WHEN MOUNTED. The exceptions to this rule is made for Western Riders who are over the age of 18 (it is highly recommended that a helmet be worn) these riders may use an appropriate Western hat. 
   
   
4. The Host Community along with Equestrian Chair reserve the right to decide any point not covered by the rules, and to correct any error or make any necessary alterations in the rules.
   
   
5. The Host Community along with the Equestrian Chair reserve the right to reject any entry at any time for disrespect of the rules, intoxication, poor treatment of animals or for any other reason.
   
   
6. No person other than the officials, steward, attendants on duty and the judges of the class may enter the show ring without permission.
   
   
7. Gate announcements are a courtesy call only. It is up to the competitor to be ready for their class. Gates will not be held ad late arrivals are not permitted. If a tack change is necessary, please make arrangements with the gate official.
   
   
8. Every horse/rider will be assigned a number which must be visible and worn in each class. Numbers may be worn on riders back, saddle pad and/or bridle.
   
   
9. Horses may be ridden in any bit, bosal, or bitless tack; the Equestrian Chair and judges have the right to pull any horse/rider pair for tack that is deemed aggressive.
   
   
10. Proper attire and equipment must be used at all times in the ring. In the English Division, jackets may be removed due to heat, upon Judges approval.
    
    
11. An unruly horse may be excused from the ring at the discretion of the judge. Well-behaved, controlled stallions are permitted. Please inform the Host Community if you are showing a stallion.
    
    
12. The Arena equipment required for classes is not to be used for practicing before the event begins. Warm- up areas will be provided.
    
    
13. No dogs are permitted on the property without special permission from the Host Community.
    
    
14. High Point award for each day will be awarded to the horse and rider combination with the highest accumulative point score for that day.
    
    
15. In the spirit of good sportsmanship, it is hoped that there will be no cause for dispute. However, in the unlikely event it is deemed necessary to have a complaint, the S.A.R.A protest policy will apply; Objections must be made to the Show Chair of the competition in writing and accompanied by a deposit of $100 no later than one hour after the occurrence which gave rise to the objection. The deposit is forfeited unless the objection is upheld. The decision of the S.A.R.A board is final.
    
    
16. In the event of classes having less than 3 riders, it will be combined with a similar class. Judges will be made aware of any combined classes in order to judge each horse/rider combination appropriately.
    
    
17. Horses may be shared by a maximum of two riders.
    
    
18. Competition to be governed by the Alberta Equestrian Wild Rose Rulebook, exceptions may apply depending as per judges and Equestrian Chair.
    
    

Additional Information:

Stalling is available for the following costing options:

• Outdoor stall @ $20.00 per night
• Indoor stall @ $40.00 per night
• Stallions must be indoors
• Riders must bring their own feed

Cost per trailers for overnighting is $20.00/night (no power available)

Registration Deadline:

Registration Deadline as designated by your Regional Director

All registrations are done through your Regional Director, who will determine the Regional Deadline. The registration fee must also be submitted to your Regional Director. Signed consent forms must accompany the waivers.  

No late registrations will be accepted.

Events will be cancelled if there are five or less individuals or teams registered.  Should any event be cancelled due to lack of registrations, the athletes being affected by the cancellation will be given opportunity to re-register in another suitable category provided that the event is scheduled to run.
